Your Defender

Read  Psalms 24:1 through 26:12

Walking onto the playground was not something Josh wanted to do. Every day that week a couple of boys picked on him, shoving him around and calling him names. He hated being bullied. If I were as big as they are, they would leave me alone, he thought to himself.

The problem was, he wasn’t bigger. And besides that, the boys had banded together against him. He wanted to play with his friends, but the bullies were turning what would be an otherwise pleasant experience into sheer misery.

Aware of what was going on, his older brother Mel asked him if he could hang out with him at the playground. Mel was a few years older, in high school, and on the football team. Of course Josh wanted him to come! The bullies wouldn’t dare touch him with such a strong defender backing him up.

Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle (Psalm 24:8).

Problems take on a different perspective when someone stronger stands with you. And there is no one stronger than God. He is the Lord mighty in battle. Let Him be your Defender today.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

Wherever you go, your Defender is with you.
