The Trust Factor

Read Nahum 1:1 through 3:19

The feeling of trust is lacking among many today. Parents abandon their children. Many marriages end in divorce. Workers cheat their bosses, and bosses lie to their employees. It is no wonder that trust is often difficult.

The world around us teaches us we have to look out for ourselves, because no one else can be counted on to look out for us. The failures of those around us hurt us not only physically and emotionally, but often make it difficult to accept the Lord’s provision and care.

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him (Nahum 1:7).

The Book of Nahum is filled with a message of God’s coming judgment to the wicked city of Nineveh. However, in the midst of His promised judgment is a reminder of His faithfulness to the remnant that follows Him.

No matter what the circumstances that surround us, God will always be there. Even when others fail, He will be faithful to His promises and will always follow through.

PRAYER SUGGESTION:

Lord, teach me that You are always trustworthy, even when others are not.
