On Dry Ground

Read Exodus 12:1 through 15:27

Soon after God delivered Israel from the bondage of Egypt, they were threatened by Pharaoh’s army, close behind them. The Red Sea parted, allowing a broad opening with a wall of water on the right and the left. Then with His attention to the smallest detail, the sea floor was made comfortable to walk on. God made sure His people did not have to trudge through the mud on their way to freedom. The Holy Spirit is careful to record for the reader that the Israelites crossed over on dry ground.

Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left (Exodus 14:21,22).

God is concerned about the details of your life. He carries out His plan and glorifies His name not only in the big things, but in the little things as well. He rules over all!

Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me remember that nothing in my life escapes Your all-seeing eye—not even the smallest detail.
