Read 2 Corinthians 5:1–21
A woman’s teenage daughter ran away from home. The mother searched for her night and day. Finally, she heard that her daughter was seen on a subway in New York City. The mother made posters with the girl’s picture and the words, “Please come home!” She taped them in every subway station and along the streets of the huge city. One day, her daughter saw the posters and returned to her grieving mother.
God calls each person to come back to Him. Like the mother, He searches for each person, and He expects His people to help in that search.
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20).
Paul urges everyone to help spread the message of salvation and in doing so become an ambassador for Christ.
CHALLENGE FOR TODAY: Reach out to someone who does not know Jesus.
